Consultation
A 1-hour consultation, held either in person or via phone call, to discuss the Special Education process, services, documents, resources, etc. based on the needs of both the parent and student. Get answers to questions during a consultation, and together we will make a plan for moving forward to meet the needs of your child- whether he/she already receives Special Education services, you want to begin the process of getting services, or the school wants to pursue services for your child and you need guidance. This is where we will discuss your parental rights and the role of both the parent and school in the process.
Consultations are $40 per hour if held at my office. If held at another location (per parent request), consultations are $45 per hour including travel time. Any time over an hour is calculated at the end of the consultation.
Document Review
This is a full review of any documentation on your child including education documentation (Individualized Education Plan, Behavior Plan, test scores, grades, etc), medical documentation related to a disability, private practice testing reports, etc. Documentation will vary depending on where you are in the process of Special Education. Document review will follow a consultation where it will be determined what steps to take and what information is needed. Reviewing necessary documents usually takes several hours over the course of multiple days. Once documents are reviewed, we will meet together to discuss findings and answer any questions you may have. If there are changes that may need to be discussed regarding IEPs or other school documents, we will look at those and meet with school personnel to review those documents.
Document Reviews are $100.
School/IEP Meetings
I will attend any school meetings related to your child’s education related to beginning or walking through the Special Education process. This includes conferences or MET meetings to discuss your child’s academics and/or behavior for evaluation and assessment for eligibility to receive services as well as IEP meetings for the initial IEP, annual IEP, or making an amendment to the IEP.
School and IEP meeting attendance is $40.00 per hour, including travel time.
Visual Aids and Resources
I will create visual aids and other resources for your child for school and home. This includes visual schedules, token reward systems, work/task systems, and communication visuals. All will be color printed and made specifically for your child's needs. These will be discussed in a consultation.
Cost of visual aids and resources vary depending on needs.
Family and School Staff Training
I will work with you and school staff on strategies for working with your child. This includes understanding and implementing visual aids, learning strategies, and limited behavior strategies. Parents will be responsible for the cost of training school staff. We will work together with the school to set this up.
I will also work with principals and district staff to set up trainings for school Special Education staff in a variety of areas such as visual aids and resources, learning strategies, and limited behavioral strategies.
Family and School Staff training costs vary depending on needs.
Tutoring
I will provide tutoring for students with special needs based on their IEP goals or general academic needs. Each session will be 45 minutes and will be based on student specific needs. Tutoring can be done individually or in a small group. Tutoring needs and goals will be discussed in a consultation.
Tutoring is $35.00 per hour for individual sessions.
